Organized by the Ministry’s Women’s Association, the event united female diplomats, spouses of diplomatic staff, and representatives from diplomatic corps and international organizations in Laos.

The Vietnamese Embassy’s booth, themed “80 Years of Vietnamese Diplomacy: Peace and Development,” showcased images highlighting Vietnam’s people, culture, and developmental milestones. The exhibit also celebrated the profound friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. Vietnam’s artistic performances captivated the audience, creating emotional and unforgettable moments.

Indonesian Ambassador to Laos, Grata Endah Werdaningtyas, praised the Vietnamese performances, describing them as a seamless fusion of acting and music that powerfully conveyed emotion. She noted that the chosen theme reflected a vibrant, innovative Vietnam with an expanding regional influence. As an active ASEAN member, Vietnam continues to strengthen regional unity and shared progress, she added. The Embassy’s initiatives further bolster cooperation within the ASEAN community.

Vietnam’s culinary showcase also attracted attention, featuring traditional delicacies such as nem nuong (grilled spring rolls), banh bot loc (tapioca dumplings with pork and shrimp), and che buoi (sweet soup made from pomelo, coconut, and mung bean). A beautifully arranged five-fruit tray with intricately carved fruits added to the display. This presentation aimed to introduce the richness of Vietnamese cuisine to international guests.

US Ambassador to Laos, Heather Variava, who lived and worked in Vietnam for three years, expressed her enduring love for Vietnamese cuisine. She was delighted to see traditional dishes and the iconic ao dai showcased at the event. Ambassador Variava commended the Vietnamese booth for its meticulous preparation, appealing presentation, and diverse culinary offerings.

The annual tea party serves as a platform for female diplomats, spouses of diplomats, and representatives from diplomatic corps and international organizations in Laos to exchange experiences, strengthen solidarity, and promote their countries’ cultural identities.
