Hanoi, March 4 – Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has launched an ambitious tourism stimulus program, “Vietnam – Travel to Love,” aimed at revitalizing the country’s green economy. This initiative shines a spotlight on Vietnam, offering irresistible incentives to global travelers, especially those from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland.
This campaign also aligns with the government’s recent resolutions: a visa exemption for citizens of the aforementioned countries and an accelerated plan for tourism growth.
A Powerful Boost
Vietnam’s tourism industry has already made significant strides, welcoming approximately 17.5 million international visitors and serving 110 million domestic travelers in 2024. The sector generated an impressive revenue of 840 trillion VND (33.6 billion USD). Vietnam’s tourism prowess was recognized globally, earning accolades such as the World’s Leading Heritage Destination for the fifth time, Asia’s Best Golf Destination for eight consecutive years, and Asia’s Leading Destination for six years running. Additionally, Tra Que vegetable village in Quang Nam province was recognized by UN Tourism among the Best Tourism Villages in 2024.
“Vietnam’s warm and welcoming communities make it a safe, friendly, and unforgettable destination,” shared Dr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT).
The stimulus program offers up to 50% discounts on accommodations, transportation, dining, and entertainment across Vietnam. Iconic sites and scenic spots are now more accessible than ever, and airlines are responding with additional direct routes and flights, connecting Vietnam to the world.

The VNAT is leveraging digital technology to enhance its promotional efforts. They plan to launch a dedicated tourism promotion platform, providing businesses with easy access to updated information and promotional programs. Social media and digital platforms will be fully utilized to showcase Vietnam’s unique attractions to a global audience.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Vietnam’s tourism sector is poised for a remarkable resurgence, targeting 22-23 million foreign visitors and serving 120-130 million domestic travelers in 2025. To achieve this, the focus will be on three key trends: green tourism, night tourism, and heritage tourism.
Localities are championing eco-tourism with conservation-centric models. Six Senses Con Dao, with its sustainable design and marine ecosystem restoration program, and Son Tra Nature Reserve in Da Nang, offering educational courses on nature conservation, are exemplary models. Eco-tours in Cat Ba have also garnered positive feedback from European and American visitors.
Night tourism is flourishing, contributing significantly to Hanoi’s tourism revenue. Standout experiences include the “Decoding the Thang Long Imperial Citadel” tour and the Hoa Lo Prison night tour.
Heritage sites, such as the ancient city of Hoi An in Quang Nam province and Trang An in Ninh Binh province, continue to captivate visitors with their timeless charm.
To reach the goal of welcoming 23 million foreign tourists this year, a growth rate of 25-30% is necessary. Media expert Nguyen Ngoc Son emphasizes the importance of investing in digital promotion to stay competitive. According to a Google and Temasek report, international travelers now heavily rely on mobile apps and websites for information and bookings.
Pham Hai Quynh, Director of the Asian Tourism Development Institute, underscores the need for streamlined visa procedures, expanded e-visa availability, and promotion of visa exemption policies. He also highlights the importance of investing in transport infrastructure, accommodations, and services to enhance the overall tourist experience.
Additionally, Quynh recommends introducing incentive packages for visitors from visa-exempt countries and focusing on sustainable tourism models, such as eco-tourism and community-based tourism.
