Several popular Korean stars, including Donghae and Eunhyuk from Super Junior, former GOT7 member BamBam, Epik High, Ailee, Lee Jong Suk, and Suho from Exo, have been making appearances in various countries in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnamese music lovers recently had the opportunity to attend a fancon featuring Donghae and Eunhyuk, which was a combination of a fan-meeting and concert. This event marked the beginning of their tour, which also includes stops in Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Additionally, Korean music star Ailee is set to perform at the Korean Food Festival 2023 in Hanoi on September 9-10, while EXO’s Suho will return to Vietnam on September 26 to perform at the Adex Kpop Super Concert in Ho Chi Minh City. Epik High, known as South Korea’s leading hip-hop group, will also be attending the HAY Glamping Music Festival in Hanoi on September 29-30. The popularity of Korean pop culture, also known as Hallyu, continues to thrive in Vietnam, with the country ranking third in terms of the number of K-pop music listeners. The warm reception and hospitality of Vietnamese fans have been attracting more and more Korean artists to visit this nation. A recent example of this was the two-night show held by BlackPink at Hanoi’s My Dinh National Stadium, which marked the end of their world tour. The concert attracted a record number of 67,000 spectators, resulting in significant revenue from ticket sales and tourist spending. The growing presence of Korean artists in Vietnam highlights the lasting impact of Hallyu and the strong connection between the two countries.
