The event played a pivotal role in showcasing the rich tapestry of Asian culture to a global audience.
Hosted by the Association Mes Amis (AMA) in partnership with local authorities, the gathering attracted esteemed guests including Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang, Paris’ 15th arrondissement Mayor Philippe Goujon, and AMA President Ju Hee Jeong. Beyond celebrating Korean heritage, the expo fostered cross-cultural dialogue through music, culinary arts, and performances, underscoring the interconnectedness of nations.
Vietnamese artists captivated attendees with a seamless blend of tradition and modernity. Standout moments included the hauntingly beautiful “Dat nuoc loi ru” (Lullaby of the Nation), the ethereal tones of the “Dan bau” (Vietnam’s iconic single-string instrument), and a poignant Vietnamese-Korean fusion rendition of South Korea’s beloved “Onara.”
Additional performances highlighted the exuberance of Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year) and the rhythmic energy of the T’rung bamboo xylophone, emblematic of Vietnam’s Central Highlands.
In an interview with the Vietnam News Agency, Meritorious Artist Tang Thanh Son, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Cultural Centre in France, emphasized the significance of such events in preserving cultural heritage and fostering international camaraderie.
Su A Lee, AMA’s Vice President, remarked that featuring Vietnamese talent underscored the association’s commitment to strengthening cultural bonds between Vietnam and South Korea, particularly within the French diaspora.
