Their collaboration was announced at a tourism-focused conference jointly organized by the Khanh Hoa Tourism Department and the Dak Lak Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Friday morning.

During the event, representatives from both provinces discussed plans for cooperation in the tourism sector for the 2023-2025 period.

The two provinces possess several synergistic elements for nature-based tourism collaboration, including their unique cultural identities, diverse festivals, and a wide range of tourism offerings, according to leaders from the respective tourism authorities.

Khanh Hoa is renowned for its magnificent sun-drenched beaches and luxury resorts of international standards, while Dak Lak boasts significant advantages in forest tourism, as well as well-known waterfalls, lakes, breathtaking landscapes, and enchanting ancient forests.

In addition to these natural attractions, the two provinces have also developed complementary tourism products in the areas of entertainment, community, adventure, cultural, and spiritual tourism.

Furthermore, the two provinces are well-connected by a comprehensive transportation system, including the ongoing construction of the Nha Trang-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway, which will contribute to the overall development of tourism in the region.

To fully capitalize on the tourism potential of the two provinces, Hoang Van Vinh, chairman of the Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, emphasized the need to enhance the quality of tourism products and services, as well as to continue signing more cooperation agreements to offer exclusive deals to attract visitors.

He also suggested that tourism operators proactively collaborate with the tourism authorities to conduct research and launch beach resort and forest tourism tours in the two provinces.

Data from the Khanh Hoa Tourism Department revealed that this south-central coastal province welcomed over four million visitors with overnight stays in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 175.5 percent, meeting 100 percent of the province’s target. International visitors accounted for more than 995,000 of the total.

The tourism sector in Khanh Hoa generated over VND19 trillion (US$797.6 million) during this period, representing a remarkable increase of over 148 percent compared to the same period last year and reaching 90.7 percent of its target.
