The entrance was intercepted at 1:00 am, according to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Truong Son, a senior traffic police official.

According to the report, police officers stopped a suspected car on the Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway for inspection after receiving intelligence and assistance requests from their colleagues in northern Lang Son Province.

They discovered 20 foreigners attempting to illegally enter Vietnam.

The illegal migrants, along with the three vehicles transporting them, have been taken to Lang Son’s police headquarters for further investigation.

The police unit is also handling a case of driving under the influence of drugs on the same expressway, revealed Son.

The driver, identified as Nguyen T.H., a 30-year-old resident of coastal Hai Phong City, was pulled over at 9:00 pm on Sunday and tested positive for illegal drugs.

In the same patrol shift, police officers encountered another drug-positive driver on the expressway, identified as Nguyen T.D., a 24-year-old resident of the northern province of Hung Yen.

According to Tuoi Tre News, all of the aforementioned cases are currently being processed by the officers.
