During a recent meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My, Venezuelan Minister of Culture Ernesto Villegas praised Vietnam’s initiative in organizing a large-scale international cultural event, highlighting its growing role in fostering global cultural exchange and integration. Villegas emphasized that the event will prioritize people, with culture as its cornerstone and art as the unifying force among nations.
Villegas announced that Venezuela will dispatch a renowned art delegation to Vietnam, featuring the traditional music group Tamboriprimo, a staple of local music for over 25 years. Notably, Alí Alejandro Primera, an artist and member of the Venezuelan National Assembly, and nephew of the late revolutionary musician Ali Primera, will perform melodies deeply connected to Vietnam through the legacy of Ho Chi Chi Minh. Songs such as *Forever Ho Chi Minh*, *Portrait of Ho Chi Minh*, and *Vietnamese Woman* will serve as both a tribute and a cultural bridge between the two nations.
Ambassador Vu Trung My warmly welcomed Venezuela’s participation, stating that the presence of the Venezuelan troupe will be a significant highlight, enriching the cultural festival and strengthening the enduring friendship between Vietnam and Venezuela.
According to the ambassador, the International Day of Culture and Arts will take place at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The event will feature a diverse program, including performances, fine arts exhibitions, fashion shows, film screenings, culinary demonstrations, and an international book fair. Guided by the motto “Culture as the foundation, art as the means,” organizers aim to establish the event as an annual cultural diplomacy initiative of international stature, infused with Vietnamese identity.
During the meeting, Ambassador Vu presented Minister Ernesto Villegas with several works by President Ho Chi Minh, including *Prison Diary* and *Ho Chi Minh’s Military Thought*, as a symbolic gesture reflecting the cultural ties and shared values between the two countries.
Ambassador Vu further remarked that within the historic setting of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, as Venezuelan melodies merge with rhythms and voices from around the world, Hanoi will not only serve as a cultural gathering place but also as a testament to the power of culture in fostering peace, friendship, and shared development.
