The 13th ASG, or ASEAN School Games, has commenced in the beautiful city of Da Nang, Vietnam, with a vibrant opening ceremony and an exciting basketball event. The games, held under the theme “Connect to Shine Bright,” aim to bring together young athletes from across Southeast Asia to compete and showcase their talents. With approximately 1,300 participants from 10 ASEAN countries, the event promises intense and thrilling competitions in six sports: swimming, athletics, badminton, basketball, Pencak Silat, and Vovin NONINFRINGEMENT. The opening days set the tone with a basketball tournament and a conference for delegation heads, providing an overview of the preparations and logistics for the games.
The ASG features a diverse range of sporting events, with 107 competitions in total. Athletes will represent their respective regions, battling it out on the field, in the pool, and on the court. The host country, Vietnam, has ensured a well-organized and seamless experience for all participants, offering efficient transportation and accommodation. The games not only foster a spirit of competition but also promote cultural exchange and friendship among the ASEAN member countries.
