The Hanoi Liberation Day celebrations include a book fair, a wonderful initiative to promote reading and encourage a love of books. This year’s event marks two significant anniversaries: 70 years since the capital’s liberation on October 10, 1954, and 35 years since UNESCO designated Hanoi as a “City for Peace.”

With an expected 200 to 250 booths, the fair will host domestic and international publishers, diplomatic organizations, and regional and international publishing associations. This diverse gathering promises a rich array of books and cultural exchanges.

First held in 2014, this annual event has become a beloved tradition, fostering a reading culture and stimulating community movements toward a more educated and enlightened society. It provides a platform for book introductions, launches, and copyright transactions, making it a hub of literary excitement.

This year’s fair will offer an even broader range of activities, including book displays, introductions, and launches, as well as cultural exchange programs. It creates a space for people to connect, learn, and discover new worlds through the power of reading.
