The festival will feature a forum on tourism promotion and cultural exchange between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (ROK). This event will also include a business meeting with Vietnam’s senior leaders, a showcase of Vietnamese culture and tourism, and artistic performances. According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), this festival presents a valuable opportunity for local businesses to showcase their attractive policies, destinations, and products. It also provides a platform for enterprises to establish cooperative relationships and attract more Korean tourists.
In 2023, Vietnam hosted 12.6 million international visitors, with 3.6 million of those being Korean nationals. This made the ROK the largest source of foreign tourists for Vietnam. During the same period, approximately 420,000 Vietnamese travelers chose the ROK as their holiday destination. According to booking data from the ROK platform Yeogi Eottae, Vietnam is experiencing a surge in hotel bookings by Korean travelers for the peak summer season. Specifically, hotel bookings by ROK visitors in Vietnam for the months of June, July, and August have tripled compared to the same period in 2023.
As of early May, statistics from the Yeogi Eottae website revealed that Vietnam and the Philippines were leading the region in hotel bookings by Korean travelers for the aforementioned summer period.
