The International Yoga Day celebrations in Lao Cai featured a spectacular performance by 500 Vietnamese and foreign yoga enthusiasts, the highlight of a series of events held across Vietnam to mark the special day. The event showcased the beauty of Sa Pa, a renowned tourist destination with stunning natural landscapes and a rich cultural tapestry woven by its diverse ethnic minority groups. This unique setting provided a serene and immersive backdrop for a rejuvenating yoga experience.

Roshan Lepcha, representing the Indian Embassy in Vietnam, elaborated on the theme for this year’s International Yoga Day: “Yoga for self and society.” The theme underscores the practice’s ability to foster unity of mind, body, and soul for individuals and promote harmony between humans and nature in society.

Attendees were treated to an exhibition of meditation spaces, a showcase of vegan food options, and a display of wellness products unique to Lao Cai Province. The province also unveiled new yoga tours for 2024, inviting visitors to embark on a journey of yoga and meditation at iconic local tourist spots, including Ham Rong tourist site, Fansipan Legend spiritual complex, and Muong Hoa valley.
