Kings of the fourth quarter
At the 2022 VBA, the Saigon Heat was dubbed the ‘king of the fourth quarter’ thanks to serious comebacks in the final minutes of play in seven out of its 12 games.
Against the Thang Long Warriors, the Saigon Heat went tit-for-tat with the opponent and, with just two minutes left of play, was down 58-56.Â

Though Thang Long seemed poised to maintain the narrow lead, the Saigon Heat forced three turnovers in the last minutes of play, allowing it to put up six points and bring home a victory.
The final score was a Saigon Heat victory of 70-61 on the Thang Long Warriors’ home court.
Cantho Catfish
After a series of stunning performances during the first part of the 2022 VBA season, the Ho Chi Minh City Wings seemed poised to cruise into the semifinals.Â
The Cantho Catfish, however, put up a surprising performance in Game 31 of the season.Â

Though the Catfish was ranked at the bottom of the league, the team managed to score 30 points in the fourth quarter of the game – 17 more than the Wings and enough to push it into an 88-82 victory.
The Cantho Catfish made another surprising comeback during its last game of the season against the Saigon Heat.Â
Though the Heat led by as many as 22 points during the course of the game, the Catfish managed to make a spectacular comeback, thanks in part to the 33 points sunk by Dinh Thanh Sang which helped the team pull out a 70-65 win.
Danang Dragons
Needing a win to remain in the race to the semifinals, the Thang Long Warriors was determined to pull off a victory against the poorly-ranked Danang Dragons at its home court in Tay Ho District.

During the first half of the game, the Thang Long Warriors trounced the visitor, ending the half with a 42-31 lead.Â
However, the Danang Dragons brought its A-game during the second half, with Edward Horton and Michael Soy leading the team to a 72-65 win.
The defeat dashed the Warriors’ hope of reaching the semifinals.
