The festival, which is scheduled to last for five days, aims to honor talented filmmakers and outstanding movies that have humanitarian and artistic value. It also serves as a platform for Vietnamese and international filmmakers to share their professional expertise, helping to expand Vietnam’s film market in the region and globally, while also promoting Vietnam’s people and culture to international friends.

The event was first held in 2010, and since then, the organizing board has received entries from various countries including Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, India, Argentina, France, Mexico, Romania, Iran, and Poland.
