The enchanting “Secret Garden Live in Vietnam” concert graced the National Convention Center in Hanoi, marking the third installment of the international music-for-community initiative, “Good Morning Vietnam.” Spearheaded by Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper and IB Group Vietnam, this project strives to introduce world-class music to Vietnamese audiences while showcasing the nation’s rich cultural and historical heritage. All proceeds from the event were donated to charitable causes.

Core duo Rolf Løvland (piano) and Fionnuala Sherry (violin), accompanied by six talented musicians, captivated the audience with over 20 iconic pieces from their 13 albums spanning three decades. The setlist featured beloved hits such as *Nocturne*, *Song From A Secret Garden*, and *Windancer*.

Organizers hailed the stage as “one of the most breathtaking Secret Garden has ever performed on,” boasting an intricate visual design that seamlessly merged lighting with Vietnamese imagery—lotus ponds, bamboo groves, terraced fields, and the picturesque landscapes of Ninh Binh. This fusion created a poetic harmony between Nordic and Vietnamese aesthetics.

Beyond their musical performance, the artists engaged with the audience, sharing personal stories behind their compositions. Fionnuala Sherry reflected on the pressures of modern life, where reliance on digital devices and social media has made inner peace a rarity. Secret Garden, she hopes, offers listeners a sanctuary of calm through their music.

Rolf Løvland shared a deeply personal story for the first time, revealing that Fionnuala had battled cancer, forcing the duo to cancel their world tour for her treatment. Her recovery, he noted, inspired them to return to their musical roots. The piece *Fionnuala’s Violin*, composed by Løvland for her, was performed that evening in Hanoi.

As the concert neared its end, the band performed *Thank You* as a token of gratitude, followed by their iconic hit *You Raise Me Up*. The audience responded by lighting up their phones and singing along, creating an unforgettable finale.

Over two hours of flawless performance, without the need for translation, proved that music transcends language, uniting Secret Garden and Vietnamese fans in a night brimming with emotion.
