Through the performances of around 400 ‘cai luong’ artists and instrumentalists of different generations, the programme recalled the significant milestones of the traditional art form.

The event also honoured acclaimed cai luong performers, song writers, directors, and costume designers who have devoted their careers to preserving and promoting the value of cai luong.

Audiences were entertained with famous excerpts from historical cai luong plays from the 1970s and 1980s that are still popular today, through the beautiful voices of People’s Artists Le Thuy and Ngoc Giau, and Meritorious Artists Minh Vuong and Thanh Kim Hue.

An exhibition displaying photos and objects on the art form opened the same day on the occasion, attracting great interest from many visitors and the city’s residents.
