The opening ceremony for the exhibition saw the attendance of senior leaders from Laos, including Politburo members, permanent member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee’s Secretariat and Vice President of Laos Bounthong Chitmany, President of the Lao Front for National Construction Central Committee Sinlavong Khutphaythoun and Secretary of the LPRP Central Committee and Vice President of the Lao National Assembly Sounthon Xayachak.
Also present at the event were Politburo member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Chairman of the CPV Central Committee’s Information and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia, and Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Chief of the Office of the CPV Central Committee Le Minh Hung.
On display were more than 100 photos introducing the special relations between the two nations during the struggle for national liberation as well as the cause of national construction, renewal and development.
The exhibition also promotes the image of the land and people of Laos and the important achievements that the Lao people have gained under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.
Speaking at the exhibition, Lao Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Suansavanh Viyaketh noted that after half a century, the relationship between Laos and Vietnam, which was built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and Presidents Kaysone Phomvihane and Souphanouvong, has been developed and became an invaluable asset.
The exhibits reflected the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples, she added.
Ha Long Carnival opens in Quang Ninh
The Ha Long Carnival, a highlight of the Ha Long – Quang Ninh tourism week 2019, opened in Bai Chay and Hon Gai tourism area in the northern province of Quang Ninh on April 28.
