Meanwhile, the prestigious pageant authority Missosology has placed Huong Giang in its fourth hot picks within the top 30 pre-arrival favorites, predicting an 11th place finish. Missosology’s top contender is Thailand, with Mexico and the Philippines expected to secure first and second runner-up spots, respectively, followed by Venezuela and Côte d’Ivoire.
The 74th Miss Universe pageant will take place in Thailand from November 2 to 21.
Born Nguyen Ngoc Hieu in 1991 in Hanoi, Huong Giang underwent gender affirmation surgery in Thailand in 2011. She rose to fame in 2012 as a Top 4 finalist on Vietnam Idol, earning the moniker Huong Giang Idol. In 2018, she claimed the Miss International Queen title, a prestigious beauty pageant for transgender women, also held in Thailand.
Beyond her accomplishments as a singer and actress, Huong Giang has established herself as a producer and judge on various Vietnamese reality TV shows. She also served as the executive producer of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024.
