The grand finale of the pageant showcased 120 contestants, each introduced in groups as they gracefully walked the stage in shimmering silver outfits, proudly announcing their countries. Huong Giang, a standout performer, appeared in the final group, exuding radiance and energy as she confidently declared, “Vietnam.”

Despite her commanding stage presence, Huong Giang was not among the Top 30 finalists selected for the swimsuit segment. From this group, judges further narrowed down the competition to the Top 12 for the evening gown competition, the Top 5 for the Q&A round, and ultimately, the Top 3 contenders for the crown and runner-up positions.

Nguyen Huong Giang, 34, first rose to prominence as a Top 4 finalist on Vietnam Idol in 2012. She made history in 2018 by becoming the first transgender woman from Vietnam to win the prestigious Miss International Queen title in Thailand. Since then, she has built a versatile career spanning music, acting, and reality TV production.

Miss Universe stands as one of the world’s most renowned beauty pageants, held annually and followed by millions globally. The organization has broken traditional barriers, welcoming all women, including transgender women over 18, regardless of height, body shape, marital status, or motherhood.

Vietnam’s most notable achievement at Miss Universe was H’Hen Nie’s Top 5 finish in 2018. In the previous year, Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen represented Vietnam and secured a spot in the Top 30.
