Besides, an orchid festival—one of the 21 major events in the city this year—will take place at Tao Dan Park in District 1 from April 28 to May 2, according to Nguyen Huu Hoai Phu, deputy director of the city’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The biennial festival is expected to honor esteemed orchid brands and products, Phu added.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has sought to collaborate with the Department of Culture and Sports to cultivate and popularize the city’s orchid farming industry.

Aside from the dazzling fireworks displays and the mesmerizing orchid festival, the city of Ho Chi Minh will also be organizing a host of art performances at the renowned Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street in District 1. There will also be a thrilling bicycle race and special ceremonies to honor the legacy of the late State Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Ton Duc Thang, among other exciting events.
