At the opening ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City Orchid Festival, Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, emphatically declared that the event had made a triumphant return after a four-year hiatus, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He added that the festival was an event to promote and preserve the beauty of the city.

The festival will create a connection between State officials, farmers, and consumers, aiming to construct a modern, ecological farming industry.

He proposed that the municipal Departments of Agriculture-Rural Development and Construction and Ho Chi Minh City Green Tree Park Company collaborate to transform Tao Dan Park into a flower park in Ho Chi Minh City.

He wanted a comprehensive plan for the Tao Dan Park development to be submitted by May.

On Friday morning, the organizers awarded prizes to 55 exemplary orchid products out of the 300 that had been registered for the orchid contest.
