The skies over Thu Duc City and District 11 in Ho Chi Minh City will light up with a dazzling display of fireworks at the Thu Thiem Tunnel and Dam Sen Cultural Park, respectively. These synchronized 15-minute shows will commence at 9 p.m. sharp on September 2, marking a spectacular start to the celebrations.
The city administration has planned a diverse range of artistic programs to commemorate this special occasion. On September 2, a thrilling boat race will take place on the Saigon River, followed by a musical extravaganza on the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The streets of the southern metropolis will come alive with colorful decorations, adding to the festive atmosphere.
In the lead-up to the celebrations, the municipal Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will present a photo exhibition showcasing the city’s rich history and remarkable development achievements across various fields. This exhibition will be open to the public from August 16 to September 6.
As a tribute to the nation’s esteemed leaders, a delegation of municipal leaders will pay their respects to President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang at the respective museums on August 30.
The National Day celebrations will be a city-wide festival, with main streets adorned in colorful decorations. Ho Chi Minh City residents will enjoy an extended four-day holiday from August 31 to September 3, providing ample time to commemorate and celebrate with their loved ones.
