The program offers disadvantaged people the chance to visit several cultural, historical and entertainment sites of the city.
Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of the HCMC Department of Tourism, said the program will provide different tours for children and adults.
The children have the option to visit the Mot Thoang Viet Nam (A glimpse of Vietnam) tourist area, the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, the Gigamall shopping center, the Vietnam History Museum in HCMC and the Dam Sen Cultural Park.
Meanwhile, the adults can explore the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Ben Duoc Memorial Temple for Martyrs in Cu Chi District, the Nha Rong Wharf in District 4 and Monkey Island, the Rung Sac Guerrilla Base and the Viet Linh Vietnamese Bird's Nest Exhibition Center in Can Gio District.
Together with the “Hello HCMC” campaign, “Tourism-Give wings to the dreams” aims to promote HCMC as a safe, friendly and attractive destination. It is also expected to help underprivileged people from across the city enjoy fun moments, encouraging them to rise above difficulties. The program runs until February 5, 2021
Pham Thi Kim Tuyen from an economically disadvantaged family in Long Phuoc Ward, District 9, said due to financial hardships, her children have hardly had a chance to travel or go sightseeing. “Thanks to the program, my children and I are able to experience new things and explore the historical and cultural sites of the city,” she shared.
