Originally slated for October 3-5, the festival has been rescheduled to October 10-12, demonstrating solidarity with impacted communities and ensuring meticulous planning. The grand opening is set for the evening of October 10 at Hanoi’s Thang Long Imperial Citadel Conservation Centre.
On September 30, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism dispatched Official Letter No. 5085 to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People’s Committee, formalizing the date adjustment. The Ministry emphasized collaborative efforts among key agencies to guarantee the festival’s triumph, fostering cultural dialogue and enhancing Vietnam’s global reputation.
The inaugural World Cultural Festival in Hanoi, orchestrated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in partnership with the Hanoi People’s Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, promises a vibrant tapestry of Vietnamese and international cultures. Under the unifying theme “Culture as Foundation, Art as Means,” the event aims to resonate with audiences worldwide.
This festival seeks to deepen cultural connections, foster mutual understanding, and underscore Vietnam’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as well as global peace and prosperity.
Highlights include Hanoi World Culture Day, an international culinary festival, folk dance and art exhibitions, a global fashion showcase featuring the traditional Ao Dai, an international book fair, and film screenings.
Approximately 50 embassies, international organizations, and foreign cultural centers in Vietnam have confirmed their participation.
