Being a collaborative project between eight Goethe institutes in Southeast Asia, Kinofest 2023 will showcase films released from 2021 to 2023 that have gained significant recognition in the German film industry.

As stated by Gugi Gumilang, the curator of KinoFest 2023, the festival will shine a spotlight on Germany’s culture, history, and the development of German cinema.

Vietnamese audiences in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City can look forward to experiencing KinoFest through the BHD cinema system.

The films will also be screened in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar, Timor Leste, and New Zealand.

The lineup includes Toubab by Florian Dietrich; Wir könnten genauso Gut Tot sein by Natalia Sinelnikova; Sisi und ich by Frauke Finsterwalder; Liebe, D-Mark und Tod by Cem Kaya; Elaha by Milena Aboyan; Bis ans Ende der Nacht by Christoph; and The Ordinaries by Sophie Linnenbaum.
