Ho Chi Minh City to Host Five Continents Food Festival Next Week
Ho Chi Minh City will be hosting the Five Continents Food Festival 2023 from May 11-14, providing an opportunity to celebrate and promote cuisine diversity from around the world.
The event is organized by YAH SOLUTION, Brands Viet Media Development, and the Vietnam and International Business Connection Club under the direction of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The festival will welcome guests at Phu Tho Gymnasium in District 11.

At the press conference on Friday, the organizers shared that the Five Continents Food Festival 2023 will bring together the beauty of world cuisine. From the tantalizing aromas of Italian pasta dishes to the spicy flavors of Thai curries, this festival is sure to delight all of the senses. Attendees will be able to sample dishes from five continents, giving them the opportunity to experience a variety of cultures and flavors in one place. With activities for all ages, this event promises to be a fun and educational experience that you won’t want to miss.

The event showcases cuisines from more than ten countries spanning five continents, including Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Mexico, Australia, India, the United States, France, and Vietnam.
This year’s edition is expected to welcome 50,000 visitors to over 150 booths belonging to 100 units from Vietnam and other countries.

Besides, the organizers have developed a unique idea – introducing the traditional tea producing process in an interactive and immersive way. They have created an engaging experience for the visitors, allowing them to learn more about the tea-making traditions and get an understanding of how tea is produced. This includes a tour of a tea factory, tastings, and workshops to teach traditional tea-making techniques. Visitors will have the chance to get in touch with the local tea culture and to purchase the products they have discovered.
Vietnam is one of the top tea exporters in the world, ranking fifth overall in terms of exports. It is also the seventh-largest producer of tea globally.
To promote the country’s specialty, the organizers decided to set up a pavilion to showcase traditional tea production by ethnic minorities in the northwest, particularly in Thai Nguyen Province. This pavilion will provide a unique opportunity for visitors to observe and learn firsthand about the tea-making process, which has been passed down through generations. It will also give them the chance to purchase and sample authentic, locally-made tea.
At the festival, traditional tea artisans will demonstrate the manual steps involved in transforming green tea leaves into the final product. This includes withering, crushing, sieving, oxidizing, drying, and shaping.
