A group of stunning Australian beauties, including the newly crowned Miss Universe Australia 2023, Moraya Wilson, have touched down in Quang Nam as part of their journey towards the Miss Universe Australia 2024 crown. Their arrival in November marks the beginning of a series of activities and contests leading up to the final round.
According to VTC News, the trip is designed to immerse the participants in the rich culture and history of Hoi An Ancient Town while offering them unique experiences within the province of Quang Nam.
The beauties’ first stop was Hoiana Resort & Golf, a luxurious beachfront resort in Duy Xuyen District, where they will be staying for the next seven days. On Saturday, they explored the ancient town, captivating the local residents with their presence as they wandered through the streets.
They delved deeper into the town’s history by visiting ancient houses and other attractions, and they also engaged with street vendors, sampling the fresh fruits on offer.
One of the highlights of their trip was a visit to Thanh Ha Pottery Village in Hoi An City, where they had the opportunity to try their hand at pottery-making under the guidance of local artisans.
The group also demonstrated their compassion by visiting a center for deaf and hard-of-hearing children, operated by Hearing & Beyond in Vietnam, a non-governmental and not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting hearing-impaired children in the city.
During their visit, they took the initiative to launch an eight-day fundraising campaign, aiming to raise AU$10,000 (US$6,600) for the center through the Instagram accounts of the finalists and the charity ToyBox Australia, as reported by VTC News.
Van Ba Son, deputy director of the Quang Nam Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, commented on the positive impact of the Miss Universe Australia 2024 finalists’ visit, especially to Hoi An Ancient Town, in promoting the World Heritage Site to international travelers. He also noted that Australia is among the top 10 countries with the highest number of travelers to Quang Nam.
