The ‘Lost in the Cavern’ collection takes inspiration from Phan Huy’s visits to Vietnam’s famous caves, Son Doong, Thien Duong, and Phong Nha in the north-central province of Quang Binh.

Son Doong Cave holds the Guinness World Records title for being the largest single cave passage in the world since 2009.

Thien Duong Cave was recognized by the Asia Book of Records in 2019 for having the most unique and magnificent system of stalactites and stalagmites in the continent, while Phong Nha was once considered the largest cave in Vietnam before the complete survey of Son Doong in 2012.

“Stepping into the narrow entrance of these caves and emerging into a world that contrasts with the light outside, I experienced a profound connection with nature’s heartbeat,” said Phan Huy.

“This inspired me to create the ‘Lost in the Cavern’ collection.”

Distinct from his previous works, the designer incorporates unique design elements into ‘Lost in the Cavern.’

Phan Huy uses draped shapes to create unconventional silhouettes, complemented by fabric textures reminiscent of rough stone blocks.

He also employs 3D detailing techniques, incorporating crystal stones resembling water droplets or stalactites, resulting in distinct designs that showcase Vietnam’s scenic beauty to international audiences.

Phan Huy felt nervous during his debut fashion show in Paris for this collection, as it was a significant departure from his usual setting in Vietnam.

On this occasion, the fashion designer shared his aim to better understand the requirements for succeeding in foreign markets as part of his future endeavors.

Born in 1999 in the north-central province of Quang Tri, Phan Huy graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture in March 2023.

As a young designer passionate about fashion that celebrates Vietnam’s national identity, its people, and nature, his creations embody vitality, proximity, and immersion in the natural world and are admired by many Vietnamese artists.
