Discover the vibrant world of Vietnamese art through the lens of emerging talents. This exhibition showcases the works of current and former students from the Vietnam University of Fine Arts and the School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and Arts (VNU-SIS), specializing in photography, fine arts, and design. Curated by Nguyen The Son, the collection highlights the spirit of exploration and creativity, featuring pieces from photography courses and practical projects developed over the years.
More than just a display, this event is an art practice project, providing young artists with a platform to experiment, engage in dialogue, and express their unique identities through photography. It celebrates innovation and creativity, reflecting Vietnam’s growing presence in the international contemporary art scene.
Set in the historic Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, a 200-year-old architectural gem in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, the exhibition seamlessly blends traditional heritage with the modern creative vision of young artists.
At the opening ceremony, Franck Bolgiani, Cultural Attaché of the French Embassy in Vietnam and Director of the French Institute, praised the exhibition for showcasing the vitality and creativity of contemporary Vietnamese photography. He noted that young artists have transformed photography into a deeply personal and expressive medium, integrating visual art, design, performance, and installation to explore fresh and diverse artistic approaches.
Bolgiani further emphasized that the exhibition acts as a “creative laboratory,” where photography evolves as a living, dynamic art form. This aligns perfectly with the mission of Photo Hanoi ’25, fostering innovation and artistic growth.
As a highlight of Photo Hanoi ’25, the exhibition not only provides a space for young artists to practice and experiment but also bridges tradition and modernity, connecting established artists with emerging talents. It promotes photography as a diverse and integrated art form, evolving alongside modern life.
Running through November, the exhibition invites art enthusiasts to explore profound and humanistic perspectives in photography, offering a unique glimpse into Vietnam’s artistic evolution.
