Vietnam Railways Corporation launched the nighttime rail service on Sunday evening to evoke the romance of vintage rail travel for visitors.
The train route connects the city center and Trai Mat, a suburb of Da Lat that boasts picturesque natural landscapes.
Two pairs of trains are scheduled for the service, departing from Da Lat Station at 6:15 pm and 8:20 pm each night to cater to locals and travelers.
The return train rides depart from Trai Mat Station at 7:15 pm and 9:20 pm.

The night train service, aptly named ‘Da Lat night journey,’ aims to diversify the city’s tourism offerings and cater to visitors seeking an immersive experience.

During the nighttime rail ride, passengers can indulge in a romantic meal, admire breathtaking views, and immerse themselves in a classical music performance.
Dao Anh Tuan, chairman of Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, stated that the round-trip nighttime rail journey spans an hour.
With its leisurely speed of 15 kilometers per hour, passengers can absorb the city’s charm in a relaxed and comfortable manner.

In 2023, Da Lat Station commenced operations with various night tourism activities, including the introduction of vintage carriages adorned with music.
The 6.7-kilometer Da Lat – Trai Mat route forms part of the Thap Cham – Da Lat rail link, which spans 84 kilometers from Ninh Thuan Province, south-central Vietnam, to Lam Dong Province.
The rail line, constructed by the French, commenced operation in 1932 and stands as the sole serrated railway in Vietnam.
