This is part of the ongoing Asian route development forum 2022 (Routes Asia 2022) in the central Vietnamese city of Da Nang from June 4 to 8.
Tran Phuoc Son, deputy chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee, said the event marks an important milestone when Vietnam is taking a host of measures to spur its socioeconomic activities after a long hiatus induced by the coronavirus crisis.
Son said the tourism sector of Da Nang has staged a relatively good recovery thanks to the city’s efforts taken in the first half of 2022.
The city has reconnected six carriers and resumed four direct routes between Da Nang and Singapore, Bangkok in Thailand, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and Incheon in South Korea.
The deputy chairman expected the event would provide international investors with a new perspective on Da Nang, a destination with infinite potential for tourism and aviation growth.
Nguyen Xuan Binh, deputy head of the municipal tourism department, said the coastal city has a convenient location as it is easily accessible by road, rail, sea, and air.
Its lodging facilities such as hotels and resorts meet international standards, in addition to abundant natural resources and scenic landscapes such as Son Tra Peninsula, Ba Na Hills, Hai Van Pass, and especially the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Da Nang is also planning to create an image for itself as a top festival and event destination in Asia.
The city’s post-pandemic tourism orientation is to focus on attracting visitors from potential and key markets as well as developing high-quality destinations, Binh added.
To hit these targets, the city needs to attract more airlines to launch new routes to Da Nang, he stated.
According to Cao Tri Dung, chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, Da Nang possesses more outstanding strengths compared to other destinations in Southeast Asia.
This coastal city is a dynamic locale with abundant natural resources, unique cultural identity, and a complete infrastructure system.
Further, Da Nang has been a driving force for growth in central Vietnam and the Central Highlands. It will be an aviation hub linking to many international destinations in the years to come, Dung said.
He stated that his association is willing to coordinate with airlines in locating potential customers to implement promotion plans, while at the same time preparing conditions for sending tourists from Da Nang and the central region to neighboring markets and for bringing more confidence for airlines to open new routes to this city.
