For the fourth consecutive year, the Vietnam Festival has been celebrated, as highlighted by Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee. This annual event has become a magnet for partners, businesses, and students, fostering strong ties between Da Nang and Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.

The festival vividly showcases the deep-rooted friendship and cooperation between the two regions, underscoring Kanagawa’s commitment to Da Nang. It serves as a cornerstone for advancing collaboration in key areas aligned with their mutual development goals, including education, information technology, engineering, tourism, healthcare, and Japanese language training.

The event featured exhibitions from Kanagawa and Japanese enterprises, alongside firsthand accounts from individuals who have studied or worked in Japan. A highlight was the Japanese-language speech and presentation contest, which further enriched cultural and educational exchanges between the two localities.

Japanese Consul General in Da Nang, Mori Takero, emphasized the robust and multifaceted partnership between Vietnam and Japan. In 2023, the nations celebrated 50 years of diplomatic relations, elevating their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The Consulate General remains dedicated to supporting Vietnamese youth in pursuing educational and professional opportunities in Japan, while strengthening bilateral connections.

To date, Da Nang has established cooperative relationships with over 20 Japanese prefectures and cities. Formal friendship ties have been formalized through memorandums of understanding with six cities, including Kawasaki, Sakai, Yokohama, Kisarazu, Nagasaki, and Kinokawa. Notably, both Yokohama and Kawasaki are located within Kanagawa Prefecture.
