“Conan the Detective: An Exhibition of the Beloved Manga Series Captivates Vietnamese Fans”
The vibrant city of Ho Chi Minh is currently playing host to an extraordinary exhibition, celebrating the iconic Japanese manga series, 'Detective Conan'. This highly anticipated event has captured the attention of the public, especially die-hard fans, as it marks the very first time an exhibition on this beloved series has been held in the city.
The ’30 Years of Memories with Detective Conan’ exhibition, which commenced last Saturday at Thu Duc City’s Gigamall, is a celebration of the beloved manga series’ 30th anniversary. Running until the end of August, the exhibition honors the manga’s rich history and its dedicated Vietnamese fans.
Japanese manga artist Aoyama Gosho, the series’ creator, expressed his gratitude to Vietnamese readers with a heartfelt letter. The exhibition showcases the deep connection between the characters, murder mysteries, and villains that have captivated readers for decades.

The exhibition space is thoughtfully designed with themed display rooms that evoke the manga’s iconic moments. For die-hard fans like 25-year-old Uyen, the exhibition is a dream come true. She shared her excitement, having been a loyal fan of ‘Detective Conan’ since her youth.
Uyen’s passion for the manga series led her to attend this exhibition, her first in 15 years. She was thrilled to relive the details and memorable moments that made ‘Detective Conan’ so special to her.
Facebook user MangaHolic, an avid attendee of manga and anime exhibitions across Japan, China, and Singapore, praised the Ho Chi Minh City event for its impressive display spaces and memorabilia. Vietnam has the honor of being the first country outside of Japan to host an exhibition for this legendary manga series.
