The Vietnamese film Hanh phuc cua me (Mother’s Happiness) is set to premiere at the opening ceremony of the regional event on July 18 at 7:30pm at the National Cinema Centre in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.

Throughout the week, screenings of films such as Ranggau, Thousand Incarnations from Brunei, Young Love from Cambodia, Aruna Dan Lidahnya from Indonesia, and Expiration Date from Laos will be featured.

The event will showcase movies from each member state of ASEAN, including Ejen Ali the Movie from Malaysia and Women of the Weeping River from the Philippines.

The film week will conclude with screenings of The Wayang Kids from Singapore and App War from Thailand.

Organized by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism as part of the country’s 2020 ASEAN Chairmanship celebrations, this regional event aims to foster cultural connections among ASEAN members, contributing to the long-term goal of building a peaceful, stable, dynamic, cohesive, and prosperous community.
