Lai Chau culinary, agricultural specialties on display in Hanoi

The Lai Chau Cultural Day in Hanoi introducing and promoting cultural values of ethnic minorities, cuisine and outstanding farm products of Lai Chau province in the capital city will be held on December 18-20.

According to the People’s Committee of Lai Chau province, the event will kick off at 20:00 on December 18 in the area of the Octagonal House and the Ly Thai To Flower Garden with a unique artistic program, with the theme “Colorful Lai Chau” and street festival activities on pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem lake.

“This is a joint activity for tourism development between Lai Chau and Hanoi in response to the domestic travel stimulus program,” Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu said.  “At the same time, the event is to realize the dual goal under the direction of the government which is to ensure the Covid-19 prevention and boost socio-economic development,” he added.

Visitors to the Lai Chau Cultural Day will experience local folk games and the cultural space of the Thai, Mong and Lu ethnic minorities; shop for qualified products under the One Commune, One Product (OCOP) program and enjoy local cuisine. In addition, the event will display beautiful photos of Lai Chau and the people. There will be some stands to present and promote tourism in the province.

Within the framework of the event, on the afternoon of December 18, a workshop will take place with the theme “Orientation to connect tourism development between Lai Chau and Hanoi” with the participation of leaders of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the People’s Committee of the province and Hanoi, together with representatives of the relevant departments, agencies of the two localities and travel companies in Hanoi.
