THE HANOI TIMES — In celebration of the International Day of Francophonie 2025, the Swiss Embassy is proud to present the musical program, “Connecting Bridges,” featuring the renowned Swiss artist duo and couple, Sophie de Quay and Simon Jaccard, right here in Hanoi.
As part of their tour, which includes stops in Hong Kong (China), Macau (China), Myanmar, and Laos, Sophie and Simon will be gracing Hanoi with their exceptional talent and captivating performances.

On March 27, the pair will host a special workshop for students at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, sharing their expertise and inspiring the next generation of musical artists.
The following evening, they will take center stage at the opening ceremony of the French Gastronomy Festival & Francophone 2025 (Balade en France et en Francophonie), kicking off the festivities with their unique brand of music.
Later, Sophie and Simon will present a special concert, “Bridge of Connection,” at Thong Nhat Park on Tran Nhan Tong Street in Hai Ba Trung District. This free concert promises an extraordinary musical journey, blending the vibrant energy of pop with the emotional depth of their lyrics.

Sophie Loretan, known professionally as Sophie de Quay, was born in Switzerland in 1990 and developed a deep passion for music from a young age. Introduced to musicals during her studies in New York, she refined her talent under the guidance of the renowned coach Tina Shafer, who has worked with stars like Céline Dion and Avril Lavigne.
Sophie’s remarkable talent has led her from solo performances to collaborations with international artists. Her ability to sing in multiple languages, including French, English, and Chinese, has earned her a global audience, performing on stages across the United States, Japan, India, and France.
In 2016, Sophie joined forces with the exceptionally gifted pianist and composer, Simon Jaccard, to form the group “Sophie de Quay.” Their unique sound blends pop, electro, and world music, creating a universal language that resonates with audiences everywhere.
With over 100 performances annually, Simon has graced prestigious stages such as the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Olympia in Paris. Together, they craft unforgettable musical experiences that showcase their love for different cultures.

From March 28 to 30, the largest cultural festival outside of France will take place at Thong Nhat Park in Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi. It will celebrate the artistic, cultural, and culinary heritage of France and the French-speaking community, offering a range of activities for all to enjoy.
The festival is open to the public, providing a wonderful opportunity for visitors to discover the rich culture, cuisine, and heritage of France and Francophone countries.
