The 10th National Conference for Young Writers featured the participation of 138 delegates selected from hundreds of nominations in different fields including poetry, prose, critical theory and translation.
President Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent letters and gifts to delegate Vu Nguyen, who has disabilities but great aspirations for literature, and the youngest delegate – Tran Phu Minh Anh. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also sent gifts to delegates at the conference.
During the conference, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam noted that the writers with outstanding works are not only talented but also have meaningful significance to the cultural and historic life of the country and people.

The Deputy PM required the enhancement of connection activities among young writers so that they can become “messengers” in bringing literary values to schools towards innovation and attraction in literature education.
Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam affirmed that there will be always literary training programmes at schools and that the number and quality of writers will be further increased in the near future.
The Party and State have been making the projects and strategies for the development of literature and arts with specific contents, he added.
The Deputy PM also noted that the Party and State will make efforts and spend more resources to boost development, especially in the promotion of the quintessence of the country’s literature to the world, he added.
