On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, Vietnamese people have a custom of going to the pagoda to pray for peace and luck. In the pagodas, visitors can enjoy the fresh air that calm their mind and helps them forget the chaos of life.
Viet Nam Quoc Tu (3/2 Street, District 10)
Built in early 1964, Viet Nam Quoc Tu is known as a sacred place in the bustling city of Saigon. Every Tet holiday, local people often come here to pray for a peaceful New Year. Viet Nam Quoc Tu also has long-standing architectural value, attracting both local and foreign tourists. The pagoda impresses visitors with the historic 13-story and 63-meter high stupa.
On the first and fifteenth of the month, the pagoda opens up its third and seventh floors to the public. On other days, the second floor is accessible; it features a shrine made up of miniature Buddhas floating against a cloudy sky mural.

Ba Thien Hau Pagoda (Nguyen Trai, District 5)
Ba Thien Hau Pagoda (or Ba Cho Lon Pagoda) is one of the oldest temples in the city with over 200 years old. The temple has bold typical Chinese architecture with 4 interconnected worshiping spaces, decorated with brilliant patterns.
This is a spiritual place that Saigon people often visit every New Year. People who come to pray for peach on New Year’s days are allowed to write their names and wishes and hang them with incense sticks in the middle of the temple.

Buu Long Pagoda (Nguyen Xien, District 9)
Once named in the top 10 most beautifully designed pagodas in the world, this is a spiritual place that attracts visitors with its splendid and beautiful architecture. Coming here, visitors will be impressed with the brilliant yellow stupa and the tranquil turquoise lake in front of the main hall.
