People in Da Nang are gathering to take photos of Da Nang's first aster amellus garden. Aster amellus is known to only habitable with a temperature of 18-22 degrees Celcius in Da Lat.
It’s been a few days since the people of Da Nang don’t need to travel to Da Lat to take pictures of the beautiful aster amellus flower, and photos of people “checking-in” with the flower are flooded on the social media.
At Ha Tong Quyen street (Cam Le District, Da Nang), a model flower garden in the city is blooming colorfully, everyone coming here cannot help but be out of the blue.
Mr. Le Ngoc (57 years old, resident of Cam Le District, Da Nang City), the owner of the “special” aster amellus garden said that his heather garden surprisingly blooms, attracting people everywhere looking to visit, take pictures. Talking about the technique of cultivating aster amellus in the coastal city, Ngoc said this is the “Model flower garden in the city” that has seeds supported by the Farmers Association of Cam Le District for trial planting, having been sowing since June 2020 on an area of more than 350m2, in which the highlights are purple aster amellus and goldenrod.
“Aster amellus was imported from Da Lat city (Lam Dong province) for trial planting. It is only suitable at temperatures from 18-20 degrees Celcius. However, when brought to Da Nang with a hot climate, if you want it to grow and flower, you must have sun shad, light bulbs, and professional methods”, Ngoc said.
According to Mr. Ngoc, the growth time of aster amellus is over 100 days, flower plants are about 90cm – 1m high, the “lifespan” of flowers is about 10 days, if displayed in the vase is 7 days.
According to the Farmers Association of Cam Le district (Da Nang city), “Model flower garden in the city” is a model of experimental planting of new species of flowers in the area. On that basis, the Association was built into a point for transferring science and technology, transferring new species, and promoting to farmer members about forms of agricultural economic development, with the desire to bring the best products with the most economic value to farmers in Da Nang city.
