In a statement prior to his visit, PM Modi expressed his pleasure in attending the G7 Summit in Italy, marking his first visit during his third consecutive term. He highlighted the importance of deliberating on issues crucial for the Global South, with a focus on artificial intelligence, energy, Africa, and the Mediterranean.

“This summit presents an opportunity to align the outcomes of the G20 Summit under India’s presidency with the upcoming G7 Summit, addressing key concerns for the Global South,” PM Modi remarked.

Looking forward to meeting fellow leaders, PM Modi acknowledged the significance of his visit to Italy and the momentum generated by Prime Minister Meloni’s visits to India in 2023. He reaffirmed India’s dedication to solidifying its strategic partnership with Italy and intensifying collaboration across regions.

India’s participation in the G7 Summit underscores its global influence, with PM Modi’s consistent attendance highlighting the nation’s active engagement in international affairs.
