The event is set to bring together a total of 19 unique documentaries from seven countries: Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, England, Finland, and Belgium, as well as Vietnam, the host country.
Each European country will feature one film, while Vietnam will showcase 12 films, including several award-winning entries from international and Vietnamese film festivals.
Trinh Quang Tung, Deputy General Director of the National Film Documentary and Scientific Studio, highlighted the main objective of the annual event is to foster cultural exchange between European countries and Vietnam.
The films will address various social issues, including climate change, women’s liberation, protection and coexistence with nature, and the risks posed by the digital age.
Through these film screenings, audiences will have the chance to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture, as well as the cultures of participating countries.
In Hanoi, the films will be screened at the Central Scientific and Documentary Film Studio located at No 465 Hoang Hoa Tham street.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the screenings will take place at DCINE Ben Thanh, situated at No 6 Mac Dinh Chi in District 1. The festival is free and open to the public.
“Midwife” of Vietnam’s Social Business Community
Being one of the first people who introduced the concept of “Social Business Community” to Vietnam, Pham Kieu Oanh – the founder and Managing Director of the Centre for Social Initiatives Promotion (CSIP) has been honorably named on the list of 20 most influential women in Vietnam by Forbes Vietnam for her outstanding contributions to the formation and development of the social business community in Vietnam.
