The event is set to bring together a total of 19 unique documentaries from seven countries: Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, England, Finland, and Belgium, as well as Vietnam, the host country.
Each European country will feature one film, while Vietnam will showcase 12 films, including several award-winning entries from international and Vietnamese film festivals.
Trinh Quang Tung, Deputy General Director of the National Film Documentary and Scientific Studio, highlighted the main objective of the annual event is to foster cultural exchange between European countries and Vietnam.
The films will address various social issues, including climate change, women’s liberation, protection and coexistence with nature, and the risks posed by the digital age.
Through these film screenings, audiences will have the chance to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture, as well as the cultures of participating countries.
In Hanoi, the films will be screened at the Central Scientific and Documentary Film Studio located at No 465 Hoang Hoa Tham street.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the screenings will take place at DCINE Ben Thanh, situated at No 6 Mac Dinh Chi in District 1. The festival is free and open to the public.
Book festival “Hanoi – City for Peace” opens
NDO – The Hanoi book festival with the theme “Hanoi – City for Peace” opened at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long in Hanoi on October 2, as part of activities to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the capital’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2019).

NDO – The first episode of the television documentary series entitled “Vietnam in the Ho Chi Minh Era – A Television History” officially aired on February 4 on the Vietnam Television and Nhan Dan (People) Television channels.
ASEAN-Japan Music Festival 2019 to be held
NDO – The ASEAN-Japan Music Festival 2019 will take place at the National Convention Centre, My Dinh, Hanoi, on July 28, with the participation of Vietnamese singers Noo Phuoc Thinh, Dong Nhi and Trong Hieu, as well as many international artistes.
