During the 2018 – 2023 term, the Vietnam – Australia Friendship Association of Can Tho City has focused on being proactive, flexible, creative, and effective. The Association has achieved significant results in strengthening the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Can Tho city and Australia, thereby contributing to the development of Vietnam – Australia friendship.
On September 22, the Vietnam – Australia Friendship Association of Can Tho city (Association) organized a Congress for the 2023 – 2028 term. |
The Association has collaborated with the Union of Friendship Organizations of Can Tho city to implement two projects worth nearly VND 1.4 billion. These projects include the construction of an irrigation canal bridge in Thoi Dong commune, Co Do district, Can Tho city, sponsored by the Australian Consulate General through the Direct Aid Program (DAP) with a value of over VND 360 million, and the construction of the “Dream Space” music room and the launch of the “Developing and Raising Awareness of Creative Education in Can Tho City” project sponsored by AMPA Education/Australia, with a total project value of over VND 994 million.
For the 2023 – 2028 term, the Association is committed to strengthening coordination to promote friendship exchange activities between the people of Australia and Vietnam. It also aims to enhance cultural and artistic exchanges to showcase the country, people, and distinctive culinary culture of Can Tho city and Australia in various forms.
During the Congress, the Association’s Executive Committee for the term 2023 – 2028 was elected, consisting of 16 members. MSc. Dao Phong Lam, Deputy Director of the Quality Management Center and lecturer of the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Can Tho University, was elected as the President of the Association.
