An opportunity to showcase Hue’s unique charm, attract a wider audience, and foster sustainable tourism growth is presented by this event.

The year-long festivities will also commemorate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Thua Thien-Hue Province and the remarkable transformation of Hue into a prominent Vietnamese city, alongside Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, Cantho, and Haiphong.

Vietnam’s National Tourism Year 2025 in Hue promises to be a spectacular cultural and tourist attraction, featuring approximately 170 events throughout the year. Eight major events will be organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, alongside 46 events led by Thua Thien-Hue Province.

A diverse range of cultural, sporting, and tourism activities will be hosted by 29 other provinces and cities across Vietnam, ensuring an unforgettable year of exploration and discovery.

Witness the grand opening ceremony on March 25, featuring the live performance, “Confession of the River,” illuminating the banks of the Huong River with a mesmerizing display of water screens, visual mapping, pyrotechnics, and sound and light installations. This captivating show will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television’s VTV1 channel.

Vietnam Tourism Year in Hue is themed “Hue – Ancient Capital, New Opportunities” and is divided into four seasonal festivals: “Spring of the Ancient Capital” (January-February), “Shining Imperial City” (April-June), “Hue in Autumn” (July-September), and “Winter of Hue” (October-December).

Hue’s dynamic food scene, rich heritage, and breathtaking landscapes will take center stage with events such as the Hue Culinary Festival, the National Chef Competition, and a plethora of cultural and tourism exhibitions. International travel delegations, conferences, and sustainable tourism initiatives, including the Net Zero Tourism Conference, further enhance the year’s offerings.

With an expected influx of five million visitors, including a significant proportion of international tourists, the year 2025 is set to be a landmark for Hue’s tourism industry.

Once the capital of the Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945), Hue encapsulates the essence of Vietnam’s feudal era. The city is home to a wealth of palaces, temples, pavilions, and gates, each meticulously crafted to reflect the grandeur and sophistication of imperial Vietnam.
