The final match began with a strong start from Oscar Dominguez of the United States, who pulled ahead to lead 8-4. However, Hoang remained unwavering and mounted an extraordinary comeback, claiming six straight games to ultimately seal his victory with a score of 10-8.

The Jacoby Scottish Open attracted a diverse field of 104 billiards players from across the globe, including ten of the top-ranked cueists. Hoang’s exceptional performance earned him a well-deserved prize of GBP10,000 (approximately US$12,530).

Hoang, a 36-year-old Vietnamese cueist, has made his mark on the international stage. He is now set to participate in the upcoming UK Open Pool Championship 2024, adding to his growing list of prestigious competitions.

As a member of the World Professional Nineball Tour Corporation, Hoang finds himself among the sport’s elite, including renowned players such as Ko Ping-Chung, Ko Pin-Yi, Joshua Filler, Jayson Shaw, Shane van Boening, Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, and Fedor Gorst.
