The match was eventually decided by a penalty shootout, with Vietnam winning 6-5 and maintaining their dominance in youth football in Southeast Asia.
Meanwhile, Thailand secured the bronze medal by defeating Malaysia 4-3 in a penalty shootout on the same day.
