In a dramatic turn of events, Vietnam turned the game around in the fourth set, scoring five consecutive points and eventually winning the set with a score of 25-20. This forced the match into a decisive fifth set. Japan took an early lead, but Vietnam showed resilience and narrowed the score. However, Japan remained composed during critical moments and ultimately won with a score of 15-11. This fourth-place finish is Vietnam’s best-ever result at the Asian Senior Women’s Volleyball Championship, surpassing their previous fifth-place finishes in 2015 and 2017. Thailand claimed the Asian title, remaining unbeaten, while China and Japan also secured spots in the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship.
