Following on from the successful 2024 You Got This campaign, Adidas is taking its message of empowerment and motivation to new heights in 2025. With a focus on the impact of positive influence, the sportswear giant has unveiled insightful research conducted by Focaldata, which reveals that four out of five athletes experience unhelpful sideline behaviors, often leading to them contemplating dropping out of their sport.
Adidas, committed to understanding the needs of its athletes, commissioned an international research study with Focaldata. This comprehensive survey included 12,438 16-29-year-olds with varying levels of sports participation across 24 diverse markets, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, and the United States.
The new campaign delves into the universal truth that every athlete, regardless of their fame or skill level, needs a supportive network to believe in themselves and their abilities. It beautifully illustrates the crucial relationships between athletes and their positive influences, be it friends, family, or coaches, who offer encouragement from the sidelines.
A series of powerful brand films, set to the emotional soundtrack of ‘I’m Sticking With You’ by producer and musician James Blake, headline this campaign. Each film captures the essence of The Velvet Underground’s classic track, showcasing how relationships off the field help some of the world’s most celebrated athletes manage pressure and find strength.

The global study also introduces the concept of the ‘Sideline Effect,’ highlighting the profound impact of behaviors on the sidelines, both positive and negative.
To address this, Adidas has developed the ‘Sideline Essentials,’ a set of guidelines that outline what athletes need from their support network, including coaches, parents, supporters, and teammates, to help them stay motivated and believe in themselves.

Former football player-turned-coach Jurgen Klopp, a master of the ‘Sideline Effect,’ understands the importance of positive influence. |
“The past year has given us unforgettable sporting moments, from the UEFA Euros to Paris 2024,” said Florian Alt, Vice President of Global Brand Communications at Adidas. “During these events, we witnessed how positive support from the sidelines can impact the performance of elite athletes across every playing field.”
“As we embark on a new season of championships, our campaign featuring iconic athletes aims to showcase how the actions of those within and around the game can make all the difference. It can be the difference between a young athlete stepping up or stepping away.”
Lamine Yamal, FC Barcelona forward, shared his thoughts on the importance of sideline support: “It’s been an incredible year for me in football, and I owe so much of it to my family, teammates, and community—the 304. The advice and support I’ve received, especially in high-pressure moments, have helped me stay focused and achieve my dreams.”
Adidas will further amplify this campaign with an integrated, multi-platform approach, including OOH, social media, digital platforms, and in-store activations. The films will be released on February 11 at 10:00 am CET (4:00 pm Vietnam time) on adidas.com, accompanied by exclusive behind-the-scenes content on Adidas’ social media channels.
