Vietnamese tennis players are set to showcase their skills on the international stage at the upcoming ITF BT50 Fleur De Lys Cup 2024 beach tennis tournament. From August 18 to 21, they will compete with athletes from around the world as part of the International Tennis Federation’s World Tennis Tour.

The excitement continues with the ITF BT50 Vietravel Cup 2024 tournament, which will take place right after, from August 22 to 25. These back-to-back events will bring together a diverse group of tennis players from nations such as Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Slovakia, and Latvia.

This is a significant moment for the development of beach tennis in Vietnam, and the country is proud to be hosting these world-class tournaments. Hieu, a representative from Binh Dinh Province, expressed their enthusiasm and desire to make a lasting impression on their international guests.

Nguyen Hong Son, the general secretary of the Vietnam Tennis Federation, confirmed Vietnam’s strong participation in the tournaments. Twelve players, forming six pairs, will represent the country in the men’s and women’s doubles categories. These players were carefully selected based on their exceptional performances at the National Beach Tennis Championship 2024 held in Thanh Hoa in April.

The total prize money on offer for the two tournaments is US$8,000, adding further excitement to the competition. Beach tennis, a unique blend of tennis and volleyball played on the beach, has gained popularity since its emergence in the early 1970s.

Mark your calendars and get ready to cheer on Vietnam’s talented tennis players as they serve up some incredible action on the sand!
