Vietnam is one of winners of the 2022 edition of World Culinary Awards, a global initiative to recognise and reward excellence in the culinary industry, that were announced in Dubai.

The recently announced winners of the World Culinary Awards 2022 in Dubai showcased an impressive array of culinary excellence. Alongside outstanding restaurants, this prestigious accolade also recognized the best food festival and finest catering on an airline. Notably, Vietnam emerged as Asia’s premiere culinary destination, highlighting its exceptional gastronomic offerings.

Thanks to its tantalising range of gastronomy from across the globe, the host destination, Dubai, was named World’s Best Culinary Destination and Middle East’s Best Culinary Destination. Peru was voted Latin America’s Best Culinary Destination, France collected Europe’s Best Culinary Destination, whilst Vietnam was crowned Asia’s Best Culinary Destination. Meanwhile, Dubai’s SushiSamba was voted World’s Best New Restaurant.

According to a press statement, the World Culinary Awards’ latest edition showcased a remarkable convergence of the culinary industry. Pioneers, influencers, and renowned figureheads from around the globe gathered at Onze Restaurant, Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club to participate in the prestigious prize-giving event.

The statement reveals that after an extensive year-long search for the most prominent culinary brands, the results have been announced. The votes were cast by both culinary industry professionals and the general public, with the nominee receiving the highest number of votes in each category being declared the winner.

Rina van Staden, Director of World Culinary Awards, expressed her recognition of the 2022 winners. According to her, these exceptional brands have exceeded expectations and demonstrated culinary excellence. She extends her congratulations to each of them.

According to a press statement, Jamaica Food & Drink Festival received the prestigious title of being named the World’s Best Culinary Festival, while Air France was awarded the esteemed designation of World’s Best Culinary Airline.

Other winners include Le Cordon Bleu Paris, which was awarded the title of World’s Best Culinary Training Institution. Stone Barn at Park Hyatt St. Kitts Christophe Harbour received the recognition for Caribbean’s Best Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant. LPM was named Abu Dhabi’s Best Restaurant. Chefs Warehouse at Tintswalo Atlantic was honored as South Africa’s Best Hotel Restaurant. Ramblas Restaurant was named Eswatini’s Best Restaurant. Lastly, Signatures Restaurant was awarded the title of Wales’ Best Restaurant.

Vietnamese cuisine is gaining popularity worldwide thanks to its diverse range of dishes, and international visitors are full of praise for the local cuisine.

Many international chefs and renowned food magazines in recent years have acclaimed Vietnamese cuisine.

Recently, the internationally acclaimed celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay proclaimed Vietnam and Laos as the top culinary destinations in the world during an interview with a popular Korean YouTuber.

According to CNN’s list of 50 beloved street foods in Asia, Vietnam has three notable representatives: banh mi (a type of bread), iced coffee, and pho (a traditional Vietnamese soup).

Vietnam’s cuisine is renowned for its distinctiveness and delightful flavors, captivating the taste buds of both local and international food enthusiasts. In recognition of its culinary excellence, Vietnam has earned the prestigious position of being ranked 5th among the top 10 countries in the world with the best food, as voted by the esteemed readers of Canadian magazine, The Travel. Undoubtedly, this acknowledgement attests to the unparalleled allure of Vietnam’s gastronomic offerings.

According to the magazine, Vietnam’s rich fishing village heritage has made seafood a cherished culinary delight in the country. However, it also highlighted that Vietnam’s gastronomic offerings extend beyond just seafood. The immense diversity of food choices in Vietnam is bound to bewilder visitors, the magazine stated.

The renowned international magazine Vogue has also published a list of 29 must-try Vietnamese dishes for tourists visiting the Southeast Asian nation.

The report on the popularity of world cuisine in France over the past decade was recently showcased on TF1, the oldest and largest French TV channel. Vietnam’s cuisine was specifically highlighted as one of the top three most beloved cuisines by the French. This informative segment was featured during prime time on February 7.

According to TF1, there are approximately 3,000 products from 24 different countries available in retail distribution systems across France. Among them, Vietnamese traditional fried spring rolls hold the third position in terms of foreign cuisines that are most cherished by French consumers. The second spot is occupied by American products like peanut butter, popcorn, and macaroni, while Japanese sushi remains the most popular choice.

Tasting Table, a renowned platform for food connoisseurs, has recently published two articles commending the delectable flavors of two local delicacies: banh xeo, crispy Vietnamese pancakes, and nem lui, succulent charcoal-grilled lemongrass pork skewers.
