The Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) and the China Coast Guard (CCG) will be participating in an exchange program for young officers from August 22-24. The goal of this program is to strengthen and develop the good relations between the two forces.

Major General Tran Van Xuan, Deputy Political Commissar and Head of the Department of Politics of VCG, emphasized the successful cooperation between the coast guards of Vietnam and China in implementing practical and effective activities over the years. This exchange program will further build trust and contribute to maintaining security, order, safety, and law observance in the territorial waters between the two countries.

Colonel Gan Yu, Head of the CCG delegation, expressed confidence that this program will facilitate mutual understanding and learning between the officers and contribute to maintaining peace at sea in the region.

The exchange program, with the theme “Together to protect the marine environment,” will include visits to President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, a tour of Hanoi, and various activities related to marine environmental protection in Lap Le fishing village. The program will culminate in a gala night with special performances and an eloquence contest, highlighting the importance of law enforcement at sea in Vietnam-China bilateral cooperation.

Stamp collection featuring national sea and islands launched
The Ministry of Information and Communications published a collection of stamps on August 27 which showcases the nation’s sea and islands as part of activities to mark the traditional day of the Vietnam Coast Guard (August 28).
Coast guards, local people join hands to clean up beach
Cleaning up the beach and planting trees are among the many activities held within the “Clean the beach” campaign of the Coast Guard Command and the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang in recent times. The campaign aims to raise awareness about environmental and sovereignty protection in coastal localities around Vietnam.
