Medical Support Provided for the Vietnamese Community in Korea

A meeting was organized at the Wonkwang Hospital on the provision of medical support for the Vietnamese community in Korea in accordance with the signed cooperation agreement.

On March 29, Vu Duc Luong – President of the Association of Vietnamese community in Korea and Ta Thi Thanh Thuy – First Secretary and Head of the Labor Management Department of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Pham Minh Duc – Head of Vietnam Labor Office of EPS in Korea, had a meeting at Wonkwang Hospital on the provision of medical support in accordance with the cooperation agreement newly signed on March 3.

It is known that the agreement frames medical support for Vietnamese community in Korea, especially for Vietnamese people in the working group in the area of ​​Hwaseong city, Gyeonggi province and surrounding areas.

The meeting was attended by Kim Seo San – Director of Wonkwang Hospital, Jeon Cheon Min – Administrative Director of Wonkwang Hospital, and Park Cheon Gweon – Administrative Director of Wonkwang Huydo Incheon Nursing Hospital.

The two sides discussed the cooperation after the signing program on medical support for the Vietnamese community in Korea between the Association of Vietnamese community in Korea and Wonkwang Health Organization. The organization has the medical system of 5 Wonkwang nursing hospitals in Inchoen, Gunsan, Jeonju, Iksan and Hwaseong city.

Leaders of Wonkwang Hospital stood ready to connect and support Vietnamese people to examine and treat at the hospital. Depending on different cases, patients can reduce the hospital bills up to 50% which are not covered the medical insurance.

The Labor Management Office highly appreciates the cooperation of the Association of Vietnamese Community in Korea and Wonkwang Health Organization, which will actively support the transmission of information to employees in the EPS program by providing information of Wonkwang Health Organization into the training program before workers coming to Korea, training before joining the work, and introducing information to localities as well as through channels of the EPS office to inform employees quickly and effectively.

Representative of the Association of Vietnamese community in Korea Vu Duc Luong outlined a plan to quickly bring information to the community and suggested that Wonkwang Health Organization continue to accompany the activities of the Association in the coming time.

Wonkwang Health Organization was established in 2012, with a medical workforce of more than 2,000 people. This is a reputable and large-scale unit in the hospital system in Korea with 5 hospitals including:

1. Wonkwang Hyodo Gunsan Nursing Hospital

2. Wonkwang Hyodo Iksan Nursing Hospital

3. Wonkwang Hyodo Cheongju Nursing Hospital

4. Wonkwang Hyodo Incheon Nursing Hospital

5. Wonkwang General Hospital
